About the Department
The Department of Mechanics and Graphics of the branch has been functioning as a separate structural unit since October 1, 2018. It was separated from the Department of Natural Sciences, which was active from 2012 to 2018. The Department of Natural Sciences was formed as a result of several structural changes implemented over the years, which merged several independent Soviet-era departments, such as: “Physics,” “Chemistry,” “Theoretical Mechanics,” “Strength of Materials,” “Descriptive Geometry and Graphics,” and “Machine Elements and Theory of Mechanisms.”
Since the 2015–2016 academic year, the department has been offering bachelor’s degree programs in the following areas:
-
Design (Computer Graphics)
-
Design (Apparel Modeling)
Research Directions Implemented in the Department
-
Development of solutions for 3D modeling, design, visualization, and animation of environments and objects.
-
Development of methods for parametric modeling of 2D and 3D objects, preparation of design documentation, and organization of related courses.
-
Development of methods and technologies for 3D object fabrication using additive manufacturing technologies.
