Seminar on the launch of the T&A program in the mini-industry
On May 10, the Gyumri branch of the PLA hosted the launch seminar of the "Mini-Industry in T&A" program, which was attended by L. Sanoyan, First Deputy Head of the Gyumri community, Massimiliano Floriani, Honorary Consul of Italy, K. Gomtsyan, Director of Lentex LLC, representatives of other partner organizations, textile specialists, women displaced from Nagorny Karabakh, and those who are interested in the program.
The "Mini-Industry in T&A" program is implemented with the support of the Gyumri branch of the PLA and the RECONOMY program, funded by the international organization Elvetas Swiss Intercooperation:
L. Sanoyan, First Deputy Head of the Gyumri community, and K. Gomtsyan, Director of Lentex LLC, delivered a welcoming speech.
Director A. Kostandyan presented that the program is being implemented jointly with the Gyumri branch of the PLA, since the branch is the only university in Armenia that produces qualified specialists in the field of textile industry.
A. Kostandyan noted in his speech that this year, after a certain break, admission to distance learning under the bachelor's degree program in the specialty "technology of materials and products of textile and light industry".
During the seminar, A. Mamikonian, Head of the Department of Grant Programs and fund-raising of the AAO, presented the "Mini-Industry in T&A" program aimed at creating small industries in the textile and clothing industry, using the idea of green industry, preserving the green and ecological environment:
A. Mamikonian noted that the program provides for equipping with knowledge in the textile and digital industries areas of displaced persons from Nagorno-Karabakh to Gyumri, unemployed women and young people with disabilities interested in the program:
The coordinator of GM grants and pre-university education, N. Manasyan, together with the participants of the seminar, conducted an assessment of the needs for waste-free production and the use of "green" technologies in the textile and clothing industries using a pre-developed questionnaire.
Within the framework of the seminar․
• A sewing and embroidery workshop was held in the sewing laboratory of the branch with the participation of displaced persons from Nagorno-Karabakh, the unemployed and women and girls with disabilities in the community.
• With representatives of the textile industry and employees of the educational and methodological department of the branch, there was a discussion of curricula on the specialty "technology of materials and products of textile and light industry" and on the program "Mini-industry in T&A".
One of the objectives of the seminar was to raise awareness among participants, unite stakeholders and present the "Mini-Industry in T&A" program, which starts as a result of cooperation between the Gyumri branch of the PLA and RECONOMY:
